Sparkling Alcoholic Drinks

When I first started the blog I use to post a ton of me makking sparkling water and alcohol drinks to my instagram feed. This series of spakrling water adult beverages has been a long time coming. It makes me laugh how excited people get about a healthier easy cocoktail, maybe because it makes me excited to.

Due to everyone’s excitement I figured what better way to master these cocktails than to have a party with my favorite cocktail testers. So that is what did. A big ole bring your kids, let’s day drink party. This drink was far and way the favorite.

PS. That is my husbands hand in those pictures… totally loving his girlie drink.

Sparkling Water Strawberry Mojito Recipe

IIngredients:

  • 1 ounce simple syrup - water & honey

  • 3 fresh strawberries, destemmed

  • 6 fresh spearmint leaves

  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice

  • 1 shot light rum

  • 3-4 ounces Strawberry spakrling water (I use)

How to Make it:

  1. Make your simple syrup. I just keep a jar of this in the fridge. It is equal parts water and honey combined on low heat on the stove.

  2. In a jar put simple syrup, strawberries and mint. Muddle.

  3. Add in lime juice, rum, and top with sparkling water.

  4. Garnish with strawberry and mint leaves.

A few Notes:

  • You don’t need a muddler to make this drink happen. Just grab a wooden spoon.

  • The rim of this glass is rimmed with freeze dried straeverries. My grocery store (HEB) sells them in small little snack sized bags by the dried fruit. It is a fun touch!

  • Fresh mint makes the drink. THere is no way around that.

  • Lastly, eatch to added sugar on sparkling water. So brands sneak it in, looking at you Dasini. Kinda defeats the purpose if you get a sugary sweetened drink.
