Podcasts for some down time
For the past two weeks - AKA the beginning of 2019, we’e been focusing on ways where we can RECOVER in this new year instead of bust our booties trying to “improve” ourselves. We want mamas to be kind to themselves and take some time to #simplyrecoverthisyear.
One of my favorite things to do when I have some free time is to turn on a podcast. I feel like there’s always something new to learn and/or just plain entertaining. We’ve put together some of our most favorite podcasts down below, And of course, Kara and I are both impartial to a little podcast called: Simply Whole Moms.
The Enneagram Journey with Suzanne Stabile is one of my all time favorite Enneagram podcasts. Suzanne is a leading Enneagram expert, and she’s also a 2 (like me!) - I love this perspective from her as the host of the show. Episodes 26 and 43 are two of my favorite episodes to date.
Here’s another style of Enneagram podcast if you can’t get enough of learning about this! Ian Morgan Cron, co-author of The Road Back to You with Suzanne Stabile, interviews people from all walks of life who are using the Enneagram to transform their lives.
Guy interviews some of today’s greatest entrepreneurs and inventors, He is able to pull their stories out and share just how some of these companies: Whole Foods, Patagonia, and Instagram to name a few, got their start.
This is one that I love to turn on when it’s been one of “those” parenting days. Janet keeps her episodes short, sweet and to the point to help with a variety of parenting topics. She’s calm and collected while helping parents maintain their calm in the midst of chaos.
Jen brings us some hilarious, heart-felt and informative series in her For the Love podcast. Two of my favorite series are: Series 8: For the Love of Exploring our Faith and Series 10: For the Love of Parenting. She’ll have you laughing and inspired all at the same time.
Jamie interviews some of the coolest and greatest women around. Her goal is to invite you into their conversation and have a “happy hour” while you tune in. Topics range from light-hearteded to some heavier hitting topics.
This podcast has been around for awhile, and it is hosted by two of the biggest girl bosses in the Paleo movement. They pretty much cover it all from food, to hormones, to body awareness, and how to get sleep as a mom. If you are looking to educate yourself about your own health this is a fun, informative way to do just that!
Do you get the easy to digest news emails from the theSkimm? Man those emails are the only thing that keep me from looking like a total idiot who doesn’t know what is going on in the world… oh and they are hilarious. Well the two girls who founded theSkimm started this podcast. They sit down with all kinds woman leaders and discuss the road to success.
Nikki offeres refreshingly honest conversations on the realities of parenthood and entrepreneurship. If you have ever had a dream you want to chase, or a business you want to make happen or you just want to be a better version of youself… this podcast is a good one.
Take some time for you
We hope you find something you like from this list. Pop in some headphones, pick a podcast and head out on a walk to work on recovery from the crazy of the holidays. Happy listening!
