Makeup Tutorial - Valentine's Day

Love Day Look

I have always loved makeup. I was into bright blue eyeshadow in middle school and neon purple eyeshadow in high school….oh, and red lipstick. As an adult, I’m not a fan of red lipstick on my skin tone, and I have the same skin tone now that I did then. You can imagine how cool I looked with purple eyeshadow, red lipstick and braces.

Now that I’m older, I’ve invested in some bronzer and more subtle shades of red lip products for my makeup stash. Let’s dive in to my makeup bag and put together a look (or 3) for Valentine’s Day! I put together a video to show you how I do my makeup for a night out, or when I need to look much more awake than I usually am.

Valentine’s Day Makeup Tutorial

Please enjoy how many times I say “smokey” and “smudgy”. :)

Clean Beauty Products

It’s taken me several years, but I can finally say that I have a 100% clean and safer makeup game. Currently, I have a mix of different brands because it’s fun to research different companies and brands who are committed to making safer products for our bodies. It’s also getting a lot easier to find cleaner options at Target or other chain stores. These were the three brands I used for this tutorial - all safer options, all non-toxic.

CHANGE THE LIP COLOR, CHANGE THE LOOK

I chose three different lip colors to play with and kept basically the same eyeshadow. I made it a tad darker each time because I was having fun mixing colors. These three photos are all me taken within minutes of each other. So, you can do your makeup for work, then change up lipstick and touch up your eyes - instant date night vibes!

From left to right, the lip colors are: Root Scarlett Pretty Balm, Root Lulu Pretty Balm and Henne in Azalea. How fun are all of these colors for Valentine’s Day?

Happy Heart Day!

Enjoy your love day this week! No pressure to get all dolled up, but if you want to, I’m here to help! Watch the tutorial and give it a shot with your makeup.
